Why did I start this Blog?

Well this is practically my first post here and I would like to explain the reason for creating this blog.

Some years ago I used to have my personal website (it was more like a blog but with a .com suffix) in that website I had put all my favourite stuff from pictures to pieces written in English as well as my mother tongue: Persian. At its best, that web site was visited by my friends around the world and those random cyber wanderers who happened to be searching words such as "the Persian Gulf" or "Faravahar: the Iranians' national emblem". All that never attracted much of an attention from visitors and I closed the site after a while.

Now, almost 5 years after my first presense in the virtual world of the net, I have learnt my lesson and I know what people look for on blogs is not "people" but "what people think" which is why every individual blog turns into a source of contribution to the global current of information.

All that said, I am here to speak for myself: an Iranian youth in the advent of the 21st century. Someone whose identity is neither determined by the dictated policies of his government nor by those propagated by major global media. I am here to insist that I exist since I don't fit into any stereotype.

It is my hope that through this small spot within the vast ocean of the internet I will manage to reach out to all those free and enlightened minds of people all around this world and share with them my own experiences of growing up to be a non-conformist.
